I am really excited to have farm grown peonies this show from a local grower....before long, I will have a little bit of everything. That's my dream....It's ok to dream big, isn't it?

Share It

So in order to enter today's giveaway, all you have to do is click here and share this flyer with all your friends on your FB wall.....  Or share however is easiest for you.....That's it. Well, then you must leave me a comment telling me you did so.

Let me tell you a little bit about the artist behind this next giveaway...... Kellie Montana. I first came across this gal's work about four years ago in an Antique Booth in Nashville. I saw one of her paintings and I immediately fell to my knees....a huge bouquet of poppies in a vase with sheet music nestled in.....it came home with me after I begged and pleaded with my mom that she would not have to get me another Christmas present for the next 10 years if she would only buy me this lovely.   The background color later became the inspiration for my front porch....pea green.  I love her work...did you hear me? I LOVE HER WORK.  How did I get so lucky to get two of my favorite artists, Alicia Raney and Kelli Montanta, to participate in my sale? I still haven't figured it out yet.

Anywhoo, Kellie has graciously donated a humongous rendition of Jesus to be auctioned (silent) off at the sale to benefit the Hayden Shrum Scholarship Fund.  For the giveway, she donated a painting called "Small Town Saturday Night." I wish I had these boots to wear at my sale!

you like my sink it's setting on?

So if you are not an art collector, now is a good time to get started!

Tara, please email me your contact information. Thank you to everyone who entered and left me comments on your favorite skin care line.  I must admit.....I love several different lines including Avon and Arbonne but I am dying to try Obashi....Thanks to my generous sister, I have the Obashi set headed my way.

I hope there is a few shoppers coming to my sale that needs a few of these.

My husband has been on a boxspring kick so I have them out the yazoo! Great for display.  Not only will I have things at the sale for those who don't prefer to craft, I will also have plenty of things for the junker who likes to make their own things :}

I am sooo in love with the goodies sent to me by Lindsay Frankus all the way from Oregon.  She has a wonderful blog, The Farrier's Daughter, and has particiapted in many art/junk events that I am dying to attend.  I hope I can convince her to let me and my husband come shack at her house soon so we can attend the Boys of Barnhouse Vintage Marketplace event.  We have only met online but we instantly connected on so many different levels...I feel I have met her personally! Thanks Lindsay for trusting me with all your handmade goodies.

Aren't these headbands adorable...they also look cute as a whimsical touch to your favorite cowboy hat.

I am a sucker for aprons....this one is screaming my name.

A few of vintage book wreaths....Katie Holder, these are just for you!

Some dainty tea towels......

lots of vintage bottles and suitcases.......

and of course...... my custom picture frames.

Live Music, Yummy Food, and lots of talented folks will be gathered in one spot in the quaint, country town of Lafayette, TN ..$10.00 admission which will be donated to the Macon County Arts Council.  I have a feeling, things will sell like hotcakes so you will want to get to The Strawberry Patch early to pick out your favorite finds.  NO FIGHTING ALLOWED.....Just kidding..... well I am not...... but I know my shoppers would NEVER fight over anything in The Barn.  We will all act like sweet civilized little ladies...pinky promise?

Feeling Spriggy

I will be honest with you, I haven't been completely motivated about this sale....well, until yesterday.  My husbands health has been weighing on me and it has just been hard to throw myself into the creative mentality the way I usually do.....It's all or nothing for me....my mind is either there or it's not...no in betweens.   However, yesterday was a good day and the tables have turned.  I now feel really confident about how things are looking in the Barn and I am pumped....I can hardly wait for it to get here.  I am most excited about seeing happy customers, meeting new people, watching my girlies set around and paint, hearing wonderful music, and eating some tastey food.  I had a little help from R. Kelley yesterday...he jumped out of my cabinet and said, "put me in." That was the trick......somehow hearing that old school stuff took me back a few years and allowed me to just chill while I created things.  It was good.....just what I needed.

You may be wondering how Vic is doing....he has good days and bad days.  I guess what bothers me most about his disease is the thought of him losing interest in doing what we love to do together.....junk.  That is the one thing he and I enjoy to do so much...we are with each other and both in hog heaven while we are on the hunt.  I know him, he will never quit going with me just because he knows I love it....and that's just how he rolls....he does what I like....that's one of the reasons I love him so much.  So today my suggestion to you is to find something you and your significant other enjoy doing together.  I think it is extremely important in having a healthy marriage....believe me, my marriage hasn't always been healthy, but thanks to the Lord above, it is now.

though she won't admit it, I think Kailen is going to be a good helper in a few years.   Here she is handstitching a bunny rabbit.  :)

Another Winner.....

and the winner of Alicia Raney's painting is (drum roll please)............Christy Johnson from Hartsville, Tn.  Congrats Christy and I will see you at the sale.  Once again, thank you to all who participated...it makes me smile when you take time out of your busy days to enter my giveaways :).

Having said that, it is time for another prize kids.  This artist reminds me a lot of myself.  She likes to piddle in just about everything.  She loves decorating, gardening, painting, reworking furniture, and sewing.  One thing she does that I can't do is hand blown glass.  I guess I need to get on the ball and take some classes, huh?  NOT.....I need nothing more to piddle in.  Jenny Helm is the Artist I am speaking of and she is multi-talented...she has graciously donated one of her hand blown pieces....a stunning blue vase.  As you can tell, this piece is beautiful and would fit nicely in any home with a fresh picked bouquet of flowers.  Jenny will have a booth at my sale and I can't wait to see what goodies she brings.  Be sure and head over to her blog, so you can stay updated on her creations.

To enter this giveaway, leave me a comment below telling me what your favorite skin care line is and why.  Easy enough?  The last day to enter this giveaway will be Friday April 15.

A Funky Piece

Normally, after I finish a piece of work, I have to forget about it for a few days and then go back and look at it to decide if I like it.  I am my own worst critic, and it's like I have to play games with my own mind....mentally, I have to forget that I created the piece, and then decide if it meets my approval.  Do you guys do that with the things you create or am I just an odd duck?  This piece is an exception...when I finished it, I knew I loved it.  I am kinda wanting it for my house but I will give my loyal shoppers first dibbs...and then if none of you take it home, I will find a little corner for it in my house.

Once I get her knobs on, she will be one slick puppy! If you haven't already, go here and leave me a comment about what you are most excited about seeing at the Spring Barn Sale....then you will be in the running for one of Alicia Raney's spectacular paintings!

Alicia Raney: a girl with some major talent

So this week I will be giving away an original painting from artist Alicia Raney. If you haven't seen this girl's work in person, you will want to come to my sale just for that. I first met Alicia about seven years ago at One Man's Treasures in hendersonville, Tn, where I was selling my diaper bags and purses....she sold her paintings there. I remember the first time I saw her, she was set up in the cafe painting....I just stood in awe watching her use the gift's God has given her. So in the planning stages of the Barn Sale, I immediately thought of her and started tracking her down.....I wanted her work in my sale.

Alicia has been involved in all of my sales. According to her, she sells more at my Barn Sale than any other show she participates in..whoo hoo! She is a lovely lady (and she loves to paint ladies) with a strong faith...I am proud to call her a very close friend!

To enter the giveaway, tell me what you are most excited about seeing at the Spring Barn Sale... old friends, picture frames, painted furniture, pillows, lamps, yummy food, etc.

Btw, the sale is just a few weeks away....Sneak Peek April 28 (5p-8p):
$10 admission which will be donated to the
Macon County Arts Council....complimentary appetizers
and live music by Christian Artist Billy Byrd

April 29th & 30th: 9a-7p free admission, outdoor bistro, and more live music by Rik Garcia, Amy Johnson, Tara , and Jessie Clement.

did I mention I sold my funky piece and two frames at Art on the Hill this past Tuesday...yippie for me!

Make something crafty this weekend and enjoy the sunshine!
