Maturity

So I am going for a more monochromatic look in my bedroom.  I found this king size bedspread with two

shams for 90.00 on ebay....I thought it was a steal. It is from the Rachel Ashwell (sp) line.   I am having a

burlap bedskirt made and when it is finished, the colored pillows on the bed will slowly be phased out ....or

that is my intentions.  Mark Hand is making me a custom headboard which I will then cover with fabric...I

decided I wanted a more modern look for my headboard verses a country feel which I felt i got from the

"porch rail."  A more modern approach is slowly starting to make it's way into my home....slowly, I said.  My

home will always be artsy/crafty/funky but I am graduating to a more mature look...yeh right.

I am very excited about a journey I am about to take but I will share more about it next week.  I will be out of

pocket for the next few days....so be rest assured, it is with reason... I promise you will love what I will have

to share with you when I return next Monday.  Have a fruitful (My Chloe's favorite word) week.

A Pretty Necklace

I wanted to share with you a necklace I got from Marcy over at Ida and Maes...by the way, my grandmother's name was Ada Mae so I am kinda partial to the name of this little place. Marcy has participated in my last two sales and it has been such a pleasure to get to know her. A woman of God, she is very special to me.

By the way, I went and bought a fresh bouquet of flowers...unusual for me...I splurged and spent $5.00 on

them....but man, they have been worth it.  Reminds me of the freshness that's soon to come from my own

garden.  If you haven't already, plant some springtime bulbs before it's too late.  They do wonders for the

spirit!

Reminiscing

As I set and ponder over all the things I must do before the sale, my mind takes me back to that first sale I

had in May 2010.  Ohhh, the fears I had before I taking the plunge...the doubts constantly tormented me....."I

am not talented enough, nobody will come to my sale, my stuff isn't original enough.....etc." You name it, I

thought it.  I continued to pray about it and decided I would let my heart lead me...I didn't ask God to make

it successful, I asked, "God, if this is Your will for me, let it be good." I want to do what He wants, not what I

want.  You see, I don't think of myself as a confident person.  I don't like attention...It makes me

uncomfortable to get a compliment...It makes me cringe for people to say nice things about me in public.  I am

getting better but it wasn't until I realized that it is nothing I have done or do that people are recognizing....it's

all the work of God using me for His purpose.  Now, its easier for me to accept compliments because I in

turn give credit where credit is due......God.  So if you are out there having the same fears as I had, I say do

what Gina Bishop from Homegirl told me....Just do it.  I will leave you with some scenes from the Spring Sale

2010.

I am sharing some Love in this post....I made these Valentine's Banners for a  friend to decorate her storefront....one is vintage, the other is traditional.  Which do you like best?
